Mother's Day 2016

For Mother's Day, my brother and I surprised our Mom with a visit at her home in Yoakum.  The trip isn't very far for either one of us: roughly two hours for him, and five hours for me.  (I consider anything under a twelve hour drive local in nature.  Ha!)  Even though she had an idea we were coming to help celebrate her special day, she was no less excited to have both her boys with her.  Over the course of the two day period, we had a great time of fellowship and of playing Scrabble.  I think she let me win that last game in order to not kick me while I was down with a bruised ego.  That was awfully nice of her.  This morning we all attended church together.  Before the worship service, I was also able to see quite a few friends I hadn't seen since my visit over the Christmas holidays.  At the end of our time together this weekend, we had to acknowledge it was time to return to our respective homes and prepare for another week of work ahead of us.  It was great seeing family again, especially getting to celebrate the best Mother in the world on her special day.
