Awash with Blessings Abundant

The glorious day off began at 4:30 this morning when God afforded me another day of wonderful life with breath in my nostrils.  Ready to start my day, I promptly got up to see what lay ahead.  Today was so productive, and I owe all glory and praise to my Father God in Heaven.  His provision is more than enough and occurs in His perfect timing.  Early voting in the Texas primaries began last Friday, but I wasn't able to take part until this morning.  Polls didn't open until eight o'clock, so I sat at Buon Girono, a coffee shop, from roughly 6:40 a.m. till a few minutes of 8 a.m.  The coffee was awesome, and I was also able to perform some reading out of February's issue of Texas Highways magazine.  Then it was off to an auto upholstery shop to have the arm console reupholstered.  Afterward, I travelled to a tailor shop to have a zipper replaced in my favorite black, Glorieta Conference Center jacket.  This coat is very sentimental to me, and I acquired it free of charge

Anne Laverne Crain -- Last Letter

** I would write to my grandmother every week right up to the time of her passing.  In reflection, I felt it was finally time to publish it to my audience.  Enjoy!** Friday, December 4, 2015 Hey Grandmother,           Howdy, how are you?  All is well here considering recent events over the previous few weeks.  First Lynn passed away early Thanksgiving morning.  Then on Monday I receive word of your passing.  The last letter I had written and mailed probably hadn’t arrived yet, but I wanted to write one last letter as a celebration of our correspondence.  Lynn’s passing was unexpected, but the news of your passing was a hidden blessing in view of your physical and mental state.  (I know that may sound ugly and insensitive, but I hope you would agree.)  Now you are unbounded by time and your physical body, only to become clothed with a new one standing before a Holy God.  You now get to worship and glorify God forever in eternity.  Isn’t that wonderful?!  I’m envious.  You also

Magna Carta

Clauses marked (+) are still valid under the  charter of 1225 , but with a few minor amendments. Clauses marked (*) were omitted in all later reissues of the charter. In the charter itself the clauses are not numbered, and the text reads continuously. The translation sets out to convey the sense rather than the precise wording of the original Latin. JOHN, by the grace of God King of England, Lord of Ireland, Duke of Normandy and Aquitaine, and Count of Anjou, to his archbishops, bishops, abbots, earls, barons, justices, foresters, sheriffs, stewards, servants, and to all his officials and loyal subjects, Greeting. KNOW THAT BEFORE GOD, for the health of our soul and those of our ancestors and heirs, to the honour of God, the exaltation of the holy Church, and the better ordering of our kingdom, at the advice of our reverend fathers Stephen, archbishop of Canterbury, primate of all England, and cardinal of the holy Roman Church, Henry archbishop of Dublin, William bishop of London,

Time To Myself

For the second Monday in a row, I've had the day off from work.  It looks as if this will become the pattern from now on.  Regardless of which day of the week this falls on, I am very grateful for a reprieve from work obligations.  As much fun and enjoyment I get out of the bagel shop, I do still need time to myself for personal chores, errands, and much-needed rest and relaxation.  Simply put, I need at least one day a week when I don't have to think about the J-O-B.  First and foremost, I gained some physical sleep and refreshment.  Having gone to bed at 6:30 p.m. the day before, I slept in till roughly seven o'clock this morning.  Upon getting up for the day, I wasted no time in getting ready for a few errands.  By a few minutes of eight o'clock, I was at the clinic in order to take care of a standing order for lab work.  Thankfully, the wait was very long, and the procedure probably took less than ten minutes.  Once back on my way to other endeavors, I drove to the

Fundamental Orders of 1639

For as much as it hath pleased Almighty God by the wise disposition of his divine providence so to order and dispose of things that we the Inhabitants and Residents of Windsor, Hartford and Wethersfield are now cohabiting and dwelling in and upon the River of Connectecotte and the lands thereunto adjoining; and well knowing where a people are gathered together the word of God requires that to maintain the peace and union of such a people there should be an orderly and decent Government established according to God, to order and dispose of the affairs of the people at all seasons as occasion shall require; do therefore associate and conjoin ourselves to be as one Public State or Commonwealth; and do for ourselves and our successors and such as shall be adjoined to us at any time hereafter, enter into Combination and Confederation together, to maintain and preserve the liberty and purity of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus which we now profess, as also, the discipline of the Churches, which

A Day of Rest and Relaxation...Woohoo!

At exactly Noon, I clocked out from work and immediately began enjoying the upcoming day off that is scheduled for tomorrow.  (This is the first day off I've had since Christmas 2017.)  Such a great emotional and mental weight has been lifted from my shoulders.  The burden of responsibility is no more, or at least till Tuesday when I must take it up again for another grueling six-day work week.  What really adds to the awesome feeling of a day off, is the two hours of overtime I gained before punching the time card to go home.  In addition, the entire shift on Tuesday will be overtime.  (Overtime pay is time-and-a-half the normal hourly wage, which, for me, comes to $16.50 per hour.  Isn't that good news?!)  During the time off, I unfortunately have a few errands to run and a couple of chores to perform.  Other than that, I am determined to do absolutely nothing, except to read and enjoy life.  I can certainly grow accustomed to working only one job, plus a little overtime, alo

Setting the Pace

February is already off to a great start; in fact, Friday, February 2nd, was a day for celebration.  First, I marked three years of living at my current residence.  This is the second longest I have lived at any one address in Fort Worth.  I lived at the Hemphill house for almost three and a half years.  So I am set to surpass that milestone in a few months.  The second cause for celebration was finishing the job with TNG.  At the last store on the last day, I gave a big sigh of relief as I completed the task at-hand around one o'clock in the afternoon.  With a forty-minute drive back to Fort Worth, I was able to mentally and emotionally place behind me the previous two years of employment with this company.  I can definitely tell how stressed I had been trying to balance two jobs, along with some semblance of a life outside of work.  On Saturday, I took some time to actually enjoy life by getting a full-body massage.  Tarrant County College (South Campus) has a massage therapy sch
