Year in Review
As 2014 faded in to 2015, I was hoping for a better year. Looking back, I can maybe say it was, but not by much. Now I'm looking at another brand new year also hoping 2016 will be a better, more prosperous year. Several positives can become recounted, such as moving in to a small, one bedroom apartment to live by myself. Another is joining Christ Chapel Bible Church as a member. Along the way, however, I seem to act as a magnet attracting the worst luck. Of course I don't want to turn this in to an excuse because the one thing I can still control is my reaction to the very external forces which happen around me. The most memorable disappointment for 2015 is the near miss in not getting to attend my dream school of University of Texas in Austin. Part of my heart and soul died with the passing of this dream, especially knowing this opportunity will never present itself again. I suppose God has bigger plans for me in His kingdom. Of course I will remain on the lookout for what He's up to for the new year. The good news is I will be entering 2016 with a new part-time job to supplement my income at the smoke shop. See, it's already begun on the right track and it hasn't even arrived yet. The additional employment is such a blessing as I truly thought I was headed for homelessness by the first few months of the new year. Of course I do have a few goals for the year, but they are realistic in nature. One is to eat healthier, and the other is to really dive in to the family genealogy. I've been dragging my feet on both and now is the time to really take them seriously. Good-bye and good riddance 2015...welcome 2016! I'm looking forward to becoming acquainted.
