The Dog Days of...Winter?

On numerous occasions I have driven the entire stretch of Camp Bowie Boulevard (including Camp Bowie West), typically while at work on my way from one store to another.  At some point last year, the great City of Fort Worth began building what I initially thought would become some sort of park.  The tracts of land were open and very spacious.  I couldn't imagine a prettier area of town becoming an industrial or commercial area.  Some time within the last month or so, I could faintly see what I thought were the finishing touches on the park...a monument, some sort of statue, or possibly a simple historical marker.  By the way, yes the construction gave way to a park, but not the type of park I figured would culminate from such an endeavor.  Since I'm usually "on the clock" when I drive by, I can't really stop to check out what is happening.  Well, today was the day to do so.  I made it a point to drive to this new "park" before heading to the gym for my daily workout.  Well, well, well, what do we have here?  A dog park.  I have never seen one of these on this grand of a scale.  Sometimes I'll spot a six by eight foot spot on a downtown corner or on the roof top of an apartment building, but not one on this grand of a scale.  Wow!  This must be doggie heaven!  A monument and some plagues welcomed the canine visitors and their owners.  Then the park was split up in to two sections: one for big dogs, and the other for small dogs.  I was really impressed.  One dog owner was on his way back to the vehicle, and he informed me of two others.  This was amazing!  If you are a dog owner, please check out this new dog park on Camp Bowie Boulevard.  Seeing the grandeur of the park makes me jealous on behalf of the dog.
