Single's Awareness Day (a.k.a. Valentine's Day)

Happy Valentine's Day!  The title of this entry is a poor attempt on my part for some much needed humor.  I hope all my readers gained a hearty laugh from the joke.  Honestly, I have no ill-will toward the most romantic day of the year; however, it really does rather pointedly highlight those of us who don't date or are currently without a significant other.  In previous years and in former relationships, I would plan a very love-filled evening with the woman I was then dating.  Most of the time, the outing would involve dinner, and then off to another venue for coffee and dessert.  About fifteen or so years ago, all my then-girlfriend wanted to do was lay a blanket on the Galveston beach, watch the stars, talk, and eventually fall asleep.  Easy enough!  Even though there wasn't much to that evening in particular, she would always mention that one evening as her favorite time spent with me.  As I was driving around Fort Worth servicing today's lot of stores, I couldn't help but notice all the men busily looking for that right card and best looking bouquet of roses.  Can anyone say, "Last minute shopper?"  Ha ha!  Whatever one's approach, utilize the best thought in to what to give your romantic partner.  He or she will greatly appreciate the foresight.  Until that day comes when I can celebrate Valentine's Day with God's pick for me, I am content and thoroughly enjoy my singleness.
