What An Interesting Week!

This week began my schedule change at work.  A little bit more tweaking needs to get done to the schedule, but largely I'll enjoy the new days of work once I get in the swing of it.  Wednesday began the real challenge of assimilating three new Kroger's stores in to my routine.  Once everything is set, I will only have seven stores, all Kroger's, in my work load.  First began an almost twelve hour day as I scanned one new store, as well as one of the existing ones.  On Thursday, I scanned one more of the new stores, plus another one I had already been servicing.  Then I had to coordinate with my supervisor on charging the scanner.  Hopefully I'll eventually get a charger so I won't have to get inconvenienced by the low battery issue.  Today was crunch time as I wanted to get the remaining stores out of the way.  That wasn't to be.  The last of the new stores was conducting inventory and wouldn't allow any vendor to work.  That was fine as I really didn't mind working on Saturday in this instance.  What I was really trying to do was not have to call in at my second job because of the regular day job.  So having to work tomorrow is a sort of hidden blessing.  Once the cigar shop closes, I won't have that factor to contend with.  Now comes the wrench in the plans.  This evening, I had to take the vehicle in to the mechanic.  He seems to think the car needs a new alternator.  Ouch!  I called my supervisor in order to give her a heads up about tomorrow.  In a pinch, I'll rent a car for a few hours so I can finish my work load.  Or, better yet, she and I can double team the last store together.  Maybe she'll go for that.  Wow, what a week!  All this happening at once is definitely a test of character and resolve.  It will all pass in time, and I will come out a better person.  Surprises such as this always shows I don't have anything under control.  Just when I think yours truly has the upper-hand, a curve ball is thrown to show it is God and God alone who has the control of life.  I'm looking forward to more of these growth opportunities.  What will next week hold?
