In Celebration!

Tobacco Lane on the Square will close its doors on Monday, October 31st.  After a little over twenty years in operation, the end of an era has arrived.  The building in which the shop is housed has been sold.  Unfortunately, the new owners of the building have other designs for the property, which do not include an established tobacconist.  In addition, the proprietors of the cigar shop are approaching their 70's, and are quite simply ready to retire instead of re-locating the shop.  Last night the store hosted a celebration party for all the "old crew", the regular customers who have become the backbone of business throughout the years.  There were so many faces I recognized, along with a flood of memories.  A surprise happened when one of our former customers called from Costa Rica to talk with everyone.  That was neat, and probably an expensive phone bill to boot!  I finally had to leave around 9:30 p.m., but there was still plenty of party to enjoy at that time.  Thankfully I have had the privilege to become a part of this cigar shop for the previous six plus years.  The memories and the fellowship have been incredible...thank you!
