Hobbies

Now that I'm not in school anymore, I have an increased amount of free time to use toward pursuing my hobbies.  A hobby is an activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure.  I definitely enjoy the various activities I consider hobbies as they act as a conduit to decompress from stress in life and to escape the ugly realities of the world in which I live.  Of the many hobbies I profess to enjoy, here are a few: stamp collecting (philately/philatelist), reading, archiving family documents, family genealogy, and so much more.  I also enjoy visiting estate and garage sales.  This previous weekend a friend, his family, and I attended a few of these events.  At the very first estate sale I was blessed to discover and purchase several volumes of stamp First Day Covers.  This was a very exciting find as I was anxious to incorporate these golden treasures in to my already existing collection.  The remaining few garage sales we visited were a bust as I couldn't beat the great purchase I made at the very first sale.  Another project I will begin working on today is typing up all the old journal entries I made as a young man in the 1990s.  These are definitely a step through time as I read about the issues I was facing those many years ago.  The great thing about hobbies is I can work on them for a while and then put it down in order to work on something else.  There is no rule or dictate stating I have to work on one of my hobbies each and every day.  That is what makes hobbies so great.  I can work on them as often or as sporadically as I wish.  What are your hobbies?  If you don't have any, find one and take the time to enjoy it.
