National Sanctity of Human Life Day

Last year a married couple in my Toastmasters Club discovered they were expecting.  Yes, this means pregnant!  As the husband was sharing the news, he stated, "I'm about to become a father."  This statement didn't soak in at first, but I then began to think about it.  "I'm ABOUT to become a father."  Hmm!  For those of us who profess a relationship with Jesus Christ and believe in the Bible, life begins upon conception in the womb and not at birth.  For the sake of argument, I'll say the question of when life begins started with the landmark Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade in 1973.  Does life begin at birth?  Wait, I thought it began after the first two weeks of conception?  The Bible is explicitly clear about the issue.  Psalms 139:13-14 state, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."  Also, Jeremiah 1:5 states, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."  Secular humanists, non-believers, who have us believe life begins at birth.  Maybe this is to assuage the conscience of the abortion industry as they blatantly murder millions of unborn babies in their abortion mills.  This might silence the Holy Spirit's conviction for a time, but a personal accounting of one's behavior and actions is ultimately due.  Once we stand before a Holy God, there is nothing which can saves us except the atonement of Jesus Christ.  When do you believe life begins?  How are you acting on behalf of the unborn?  Don't allow non-biblical ideologies to creep in to your belief system.  Life begins upon conception  Human life is sacred each and every day, not simply one day out of the year.
