In Honor of My Mother
On this day a few years ago, my mother was born. She would be horrified if I mentioned her age, so I won't dare. Our relationship has improved over the years to that of a wonderful friendship. Unfortunately, it hasn't always been like that. As both of us grow and change, we have come to a greater understanding of one another. In looking back over the years to the present, I can see the embodiment of a true Proverbs 31 woman. If she sees a need or issue, no questions are asked as she promptly takes herself to task. For both her husband and children, she is the patient and loving caregiver and a most ardent supporter. Not only is she book smart, but also street smart. (One feeds in to the other.) The street smarts is my favorite quality of hers, something I sorely lack to the degree it exists in her. She is not fooled by the prevailing winds of propaganda and false news of today's day and age. Truth will prevail and knowledge is power can be her motto. I am very proud and pleased to have her as a mother. With no further ado, I will simply say Happy Birthday this amazing woman.
