The Death Knell!

The other half of the underlying stress has been resolved, or at least as to the mystery of what is wrong with the truck.  Before turning in the rental car on Saturday, I made a stop at the mechanic's shop for his diagnosis on my vehicular woes.  He isn't 100% certain, but he is almost positive the overdrive in the transmission is shot, and this is what is causing the gears to slip and the engine to rev up in RPMs.  Unfortunately this means the whole thing (transmission) has to get rebuilt.  Immediately I knew this would cost quite a bit of money.  Ouch!  I asked him to make certain, and then I requested a ballpark figure of cost on repairs.  Having had other customers with issues very similar, he gave a rough estimate of $1500.  Wow!  I asked him to call me on Monday with a more concrete conclusion as to the problem at-hand.  I then made a call to my mother and step-father for feedback and advice.  It is my understanding we will authorize the repairs in preparation for potentially selling the truck.  In the meantime, we will look for another form of transportation.  The possible good news is the mechanic may have a decent used car for sale at almost the exact price of the repairs in question.  I trust this guy whole-heartedly.  This may be an option in the wings, a possible solution to my dilemma for the very near future.  Tomorrow I will have to rent another car from Enterprise, this time for the entirety of the upcoming week.  Almighty God is the ultimate provider of every need in my life, both financially and in transportation.  He will also provide additional employment, which I desperately need, in His perfect timing.  Now that I know what is happening with the truck, I can now move on mentally and emotionally.  Life never seems to stop throwing stuff my way.  That's fine as it keeps everything interesting.
