It Isn't Like Burger King!

Burger King's classic motto is "Have it your way!"  To have the opportunity to daily walk in to the Burger King of life, see on the menu how I want my day to go, and then settle accounts with the cashier...what more could I want?  If only life were that easy.  Most often I simply have to roll with the punches on what life sends my way, only to arrive at the end result with some altered or grotesque form of what I initially set out to accomplish.  Eternally speaking, the good guys will win; however, I'd like to experience and revel in that sense of success in the here and now.  Sometimes when I play the part of the hermit by staying at the apartment all day on my days off, even then I only minimize the chances life will find a way to screw up my plans.  To play a recluse is not the answer, I should still roll the dice each and every day by choosing to engage life.  Yahweh God is still in charge.  This morning I took the truck to the mechanic for an issue that has been plaguing me for the previous three months.  I can only cringe at what the issue might be and the resulting bill.  With my luck, nothing is ever minor and/or inexpensive.  Unfortunately, this is all a part of life and the result of taking a semi-active part in it.  Recently I also discovered the merchandiser I'm training at TNG is currently making more money than I am, by at least two dollars an hour.  How demoralizing is that?!  It makes me want to kick his ass and to tell the supervisor exactly what I think.  Of course that won't solve any of the problems at-hand, but oh how nice that would feel.  Anyway, I really don't want this day's blog entry to become a rant for my perceived slights.  (It does feel good to get it out in to the open.)  Whatever is going on in your life, I hope you are comforted by the fact you're not alone in your struggles.  No one is perfect, and not everyone gets their way 100%, or even a fraction, of the time.  Stay true to your course and rest when the end of the day arrives.  Don't think about the tomorrow that doesn't yet exist.  Deal with that head-on when it arrives.  Until then, don't lose faith in God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
