More Like A Home!

Today was a very full day as I accomplished quite a bit.  (A few of the chores happened to be on my bucket list for the apartment.)  The good news of the day, and all of it is wonderful, I had an employment interview with Cabela's this morning.  Not knowing what traffic and road construction would be like, I set out early for the ten o'clock appointment.  Of course I arrived early, as is my luck, and the interviewing manager was willing to accommodate the pre-mature showing.  The time spent discussing the job went more like a catching up on old times rather than a formal question and answer session.  I am to expect a call back for a drug test and a background check.  Once that was over, I headed out on a few errands.  First, I got a much needed haircut, and then I filled up the truck with gas.  Those two items alone cost roughly $40...ouch!  Afterward, I stopped by The Home Depot for two one inch by three-inch plywood boards to hang curtains on.  Thankfully the person working the department agreed to cut the wood to the size needed.  Once back at the apartment, I hired my next-door neighbor to install the wood in to the cinder block walls.  I'll still need to head back to The Home Depot for some more lumber and curtain mounts, but the day's work looks absolutely wonderful.  (I also had weather stripping installed around the exterior door to help with drafts and to make the place a tad bit more energy efficient.)  I am praising God for the work performed and for making this apartment feel more like a home.  Once again, all this has been two and a half years in the making.  Until now, I simply couldn't find anyone willing to take on the job(s).  As a final touch on the day, I gathered some more stuff to donate to Goodwill.  This evening I feel on top of the world!  I need more days like this.
