Oh, What a Relief It Is!

Shortly after Noon on Friday, I took out on to the open road for Yoakum, Texas.  Heading south on Interstate 35, I quickly picked up speed to the 75 miles per hour speed limit.  It was as if I couldn't get out of town fast enough.  I haven't been on a road trip since Christmas, and I was sick when I did catch a few days away.  Of course I made my usual stop at the Czech Bakery in West, Texas.  The sausage and cheese rolls, along with the kolaches, were absolutely delicious.  Then I found myself in Yoakum by a few minutes to six o'clock in the evening.  Mom and I played a game of Scrabble, and the game ended in an exact tie.  Overall, today has been a good day for a first visit with family.  Hopefully mother enjoys the visit as this is my gift to her for Mother's Day on Sunday.  However, I didn't arrive completely empty-handed.  I did bring a pound of gourmet coffee, as she enjoys the finer things in life from time to time.  As is usually the case, the time away spent with family will pass by all too quickly.  Regardless, I'll enjoy the time much the same.  However you choose to spend the Mother's Day weekend, be sure to call and/or visit family.  Time is precious, and family won't be around forever.
