Go With The Flow
Today was not the day to get upset about changed plans. Ha! Even though I seem to respond well to external forces through adaptability, I am usually not happy when my routine and life become unsettled. The vehicle isn't ready at the mechanic, which I expected. But what I didn't expect is the guy hasn't even touched it yet. This was a crucial factor in deciding how long to rent the car through Enterprise. However, there was a hidden blessing. To rent the car from Wednesday to only Saturday, the cost was $205. To rent the car from Wednesday to next Monday, the cost was $144. That's not the kind of math I remember learning in school. Maybe this is what people call algebra?! (Still a foreign concept to me.) At this point, so far...so good! Then I scurry around town catching up on the minor jobs at the stores I usually service on Tuesday. Once out at the Kroger's in Granbury, the scanner decides to act up an hour in to the job. Both myself and tech support couldn't seem to get it going without running back to the apartment, an hour away, and hooking the scanner back up to the computer. Not sure exactly what we did to get it operational again, but it worked. Now I'm three hours behind and scrambling to at least scan two of the ten Kroger's I have to service this week. Strategically I decided to service the two larger out of the most inmost stores, and leave the further out ones for tomorrow through Saturday. Then I'll have to service three stores on Thursday, three on Friday, and two on Saturday. Not bad! In the end, I knew everything would work out. But days like today are great examples of how my life has been for the last forty-three years: never getting what I want out of it. Anyway, I better get to bed. I have a big rest of the week ahead of me.
