Historical Park
On Wednesdays, part of my route for the job takes me by a park dedicated to veterans of World War I and the army base called Camp Bowie in Fort Worth. This particular base is no longer in existence as it was quickly converted to civilian use after the war. However, several monuments now adorn a patch of land along Camp Bowie Boulevard, the very street which originally cut through the location where the base formerly stood. For a few days leading up to today's route, I planned on stopping by to read the history and to take pictures. I was enthralled at the amount of history the place had to offer, as my knowledge concerning the area was rather limited at best. History is vital and oh so quickly forgotten, but I am dedicated to the revival of said history, not only here but also in each city I visit and travel in. I find the "past" important as there is so much to learn about what happened, what was gained by it, and how it can help guide me in to the future. Fort Worth is rife with fascinating history not very many people are aware of or know much about. I strongly encourage my readers to learn of your city's and the surrounding area's history. It is important and exciting. Below are a few of the pictures I took during my visit. Enjoy!
