Reprieve From Reality

About two weeks ago my sister made an offer I couldn't refuse.  Since I wasn't gainfully employed, why not come out to Hawaii for an indefinite period of time?  Not wanting to make a rash decision, I consulted with a trusted adviser and gave her a decision two days later.  I gave her the green light to proceed in making arrangments for travelling to Oahu.  She purchased a one-way ticket rather inexpensively, helped guide me through the Covid testing requirements, as well as all the other government stipulated measures I had to satisfy, and offered support with any questions or concerns I may have had.  Admittedly, there were a few stressful times trying to get everything accomplished; however, Abba Father more than adequately provided for yours truly.  The main obstacle was getting the driver's license renewed.  Due to the pandemic, most businesses were on restricted operating hours or by appointment only.  The DMV was no exception.  Even though the office was by appointment only, they did offer same-day walk-in appointments to those who showed up early enough in the day to snag one of those coveted tickets.  Thankfully, I was blessed to have the opportunity to renew the DL in time for the trip.  As everything began to fall into place, I became increasingly nervous about the trip.  Was I making the right decision?  Am I simply refusing to grow up, find a job, and accept responsibility for myself?  Then there were thoughts of the plane crashing in some freak accident.  Well, the day of the trip finally arrived, and it turns out I had nothing to worry about.  Other than a long line for Covid verification at the airport upon landing, the entire process was as smooth as silk.  Of course I was exhausted once settling in at my sister's townhome.  I was in bed at 7 p.m. Hawaiian Standard Time, which would have been midnight in Texas.  Waking up at 2:30 a.m., looks like I have some adjusting to accomplish.  I am excited about staying here for at least the next two months.  Let's see what kind of mischief I can get in to...ha ha!
