In to the Future and Beyond...

We are eleven days in to the New Year, and I have already made a huge decision for 2018.  Friday, February 2, will be my last day working for TNG (formerly The News Group).  After two years of working for this company, I feel this season of life has moved past its purpose.  When I first found this job, or rather I should say when God Almighty blessed me with this form of employment, I was then currently under-employed at the cigar shop.  (Under-employed seems to be a running theme in my life.)  It was a blessing experienced at just the right time.  Even after the cigar shop closed, I continued working as a merchandiser servicing primarily Kroger stores in the Fort Worth and surrounding areas.  Fast forward two years, I am once again working two jobs.  Employed at Einstein Bros. Bagels as the baker, I have found a job with a more stable future.  When I was kicked out of one of my Kroger stores, previously discussed in a former post, I knew the time for my departure was drawing near.  After much deliberation and advice-seeking, I decided to throw the dice.  I talked it over with the manager of the bagel shop, and he quickly offered to work me six days a week, which includes possible overtime.  This is a win-win situation, as I already make more money with Einstein's than the job I've worked at for the previous two years.  (And with no pay-raise the entire time either.)  I will miss the type of work I was assigned to perform, along with the many relationships I have formed in the process.  However, I don't want to live on yesterday's manna (blessings) as I anxiously await to see what the future holds.  Yes, I still have roughly three weeks remaining at TNG, but I doubt if the decision will be rescinded.  God has been so good to me providing exactly what was needed during the appropriate time frame.  I will miss working for TNG, but all that will simply provide fond memories and experiences to look back upon.  With that said, I now look forward to the balance of 2018.  What will this year continue to hold for yours truly?  Let's wait and see.
