Weekly Oasis!

Mondays are my usual day off from work, a weekly reprieve from the rat race so common to us working folks.  When I mention how the day was filled with rest and relaxation, as in "I did absolutely nothing on my day off!", I should clarify this summation by merely confessing the day was void of outside errands and chores.  However, I did perform a few items on the never-ending to-do list.  Husbands know this "list" as honey-do chores, but I have no one to generate such a list for me.  I simply must stay proactive in keeping up with maintenance around the apartment: cleaning, cooking, and so much more...the very stuff of life that is essential to daily living.  Included along with the true enjoyment of not having to work, I had the one goal of reading through some of the magazines placed on the coffee table.  I am pleased to announce mission accomplished.  For the upcoming weekend, both my mother and step-father are travelling to Fort Worth for a visit.  They visited in August of 2017, and I guess felt they were due for another out-of-town excursion.  On Saturday, we ironed out our itinerary designed around my strange work schedule and sleep routine.  Taking care of some of the today's chores had this event in mind.  Later on in the week, I'll still have to clean the bathroom once again, as well as to wash laundry.  As short as the days off are, I am very thankful for the true rest afforded me by my Heavenly Father.  I am able to mentally, emotionally, and physically reset, and to prepare myself for another week of work.  Everyone needs their own time for themselves.  If you don't have that, carve out at least one day a week to call your own.  You will be glad you did.  Happy Monday!
