Rest and Relaxation

There was a slight chance I would have had to work this morning at the bagel shop, but the backup baker came through for me in reporting for duty.  He didn't show up for work yesterday, and there was some concern no one would have the product ready for business when the store opened at 5 a.m.  Since I didn't get a day off last week, I was looking so forward to a day of rest and relaxation.  Thankfully, God has blessed me with time to mentally and emotionally re-coup from the previous few weeks of hard work.  Last week was the first week of the Kroger's (grocery store) four-week cycle.  This meant I had eight stores in which install marketing material.  Whenever these times roll around, I know a hard work week is ahead of me.  Due to God's sustaining and strengthening power, I made it to Friday.  Of course I was still sore and bone-weary, but I survived!  Today I am taking my neighbor on an errand.  He needs to travel downtown for a legal issue, and I agreed to take him.  Other than that, all I have planned is to read and rest.  What I sorely miss about working two jobs, is the lost time for reading.  Until I get caught up financially, I must deal with the new routine of eat, sleep, and work.  Maybe today will provide an opportunity to re-energize and to read through a magazine or two.  Whatever you find yourself involved in today, enjoy the moment and recognize Almighty God's Hand in your life.  Many blessings on you.
